How to retain Dolby Vision when creating UHD discs?
To enjoy Dolby Vision content on UHD Blu-ray discs, you need a compatible UHD Blu-ray player and a TV that supports Dolby Vision HDR. Many modern UHD TVs and Blu-ray players support Dolby Vision, allowing you to experience enhanced brightness, contrast, color, and scene-by-scene HDR optimization through dynamic metadata.
Dolby Vision video files are commonly found in MP4, MKV, and M2TS formats. M2TS files that contain Dolby Vision are usually sourced from UHD Blu-ray discs and are typically dual-layer Dolby Vision Profile 7. MP4 and MKV files containing Dolby Vision are generally Dolby Vision Profile 8.
If you want to create a UHD disc with Dolby Vision, you must first make sure that your source video already contains Dolby Vision metadata. Yuhan 4K UHD Creator includes a built-in Dolby Vision detection feature to help you confirm this.
Please follow the steps below:
1. Load the video file
Import your video into Yuhan 4K UHD Creator. If the source file contains Dolby Vision, the file information area will display Dolby Vision, as shown in the image.

2. Set the correct frame rate
Before creating a UHD disc, make sure you select the correct frame rate for the source video. After the video is loaded, Yuhan 4K UHD Creator will display its frame rate in the file information area. Please choose the same frame rate from the option in the lower-right corner of the software interface.

3. Select Dolby Vision in the settings
Open the software settings dialog box and select Dolby Vision. This ensures that Dolby Vision is retained when creating the UHD disc, as long as the source file contains valid Dolby Vision metadata.

Please note that Dolby Vision can only be retained if the original video already contains Dolby Vision information. Yuhan 4K UHD Creator cannot create real Dolby Vision metadata from a non-Dolby Vision source.
